Mayor's Climate Action Youth Workshop

Boston Climate Action Planning

We need your voice!!

Climate change is a long-term problem and we’re going to have to start creating solutions now and carry them forward for many years to come.

We’re setting climate change goals for the years 2020 and 2050. What will it be like to live in Boston then? We don’t know for sure, but we do know two important things right now. First, you will be an adult by then and will be living with the results of decisions we are making today. Second, you have important ideas that need to be heard now!

Don’t miss this chance to be part of an interactive workshop about climate change!

Citywide Youth Workshop

Sat. February 27 at Old South Church

645 Boylston Street Boston

      10:00-11:00 register/brunch; 11:00 am - 2:00 pm workshop

Interpretation available on request in: American Sign Language

 Learn, Speak, Meet, Act!!

The City of Boston is developing its second Climate Action Plan [http://www.cityofboston.gov/climate/committee.asp] and we need your input!

The Earth’s climate is changing and human activity is the primary cause. [http://www.cityofboston.gov/climate/science.asp]

We can take actions now that prevent many of the most serious effects, and choose to create a better future for Boston.

Mayor Menino has asked the Boston Climate Action Leadership and the Community Advisory Committee on Climate Action to make recommendations for the city’s new Climate Action Plan on ways to reduce greenhouse gases, save energy, adapt to the changes we can’t avoid, and expand the green economy. It’s going to take creative thinking, tough decisions, and real commitment from all of Boston’s residents, businesses, and organizations as well as city government, to make it happen… and we need your help!

Come to one of five interactive community workshops -- 4 that are neighborhood-based and 1 for citywide high school aged youth-- and:

  • Learn about how climate change is already affecting Boston, and what we can do about it
  • Give feedback on new climate action proposals, which include actions related to housing, transportation, and beyond, using keypad polling
  • Meet and talk with other Boston residents who care about climate action
  • Learn about Renew Boston, the City’s program to link residents with practical resources to start saving energy and reducing greenhouse gases right away

There will be four neighborhood-based workshops and one city-wide youth workshop. Sign up for the workshop you prefer today! Please register at: www.cityofboston.gov/climate.
