Alternatives for Community and Environment

Roxbury Environmental Empowerment Project: Nurturing youth leadership through an environmental justice curriculum, internship and membership programs, and youth-led projects.

 

Antioch New England Institute

Integrating place-based and environmental education into the K-12 experience for school improvement, environmental stewardship, community vitality and environmental quality.

 

Arnold Arboretum

Collaborating with Boston Public School teachers to create field trips and grade-specific curriculum that addresses life science standards.

 

Boston Children’s Museum

Green Grease Monkeys

Spreading the “grease gospel” at science fairs, Earth Day events, and community events through car exhibitions and speaking engagements.

An interdisciplinary program for students grades 4-8 combining classroom preparation and field expeditions to the Boston Harbor Islands.

Working with community and educational partners to improve the health of urban ecosystems through education, action and advocacy programs.

 

Urban Science Academy

Students take part in the research necessary to find their interests and strengths and learn to serve the world.

 

Youth CAN (the Youth Climate Action Network)

A network of climate action youth groups in Massachusetts working together to address global climate change. 

 

Zoo New England
